Government Incentives are in place – Save the Environment, Save your Money!
Solar Power Rebate
There are currently two government rebate schemes in place for Western Australians purchasing a solar power system:
- Renewable Energy Certificates or Solar Credits
- The Feed-in tariff
Solar myWorld offer Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) as a point of sales discount for solar power installations. RECs are calculated at their current value and deducted off the quotation, reducing a client’s out of pocket expense. Upon installation of their solar panels, clients will be required to sign a RECs form acknowledging that Solar myWorld is to claim the RECs on their behalf. The larger the renewable energy system is, the more certificates it will hold. Tradeable like shares, the value of RECs varies day by day.
Commencing as of 1st August 2010, residential grid connect solar power systems may now be eligible for WA’s Feed In Tariff. Any excess power produced by your system will feed back into the grid, to be credited to your account at 8.4c* per unit! (*for clients registered prior to 30th June 2011 and installed before 30th September). This incentive is ideal for working families as solar power production peaks midday during which time power consumption would be at its lowest.
Visit our Solar Panels Perth page for more information on solar panels in Perth and across WA.
Solar Hot Water Rebate
If you’re considering switching your old electric storage water heater soon, consider this: if you switch to a solar hot water heater, you will also qualify for REC discount (see above)
