Thermosiphon system information

A thermosiphon or roof mounted system consists of both collector(s) and a roof mounted tank. A roof mounted system is ideal for residential properties as they are affordable, compact and easy to maintain. Water is circulated through the system by the process of convection. This allows hot water to rise up through the collectors into the tank, to be replaced by cold water in a systematic cycle.

Active System information

Active systems – commonly known as split systems - consist of roof mounted collector(s) and a separate tank on the ground, usually located close to one of the major hot water consumption areas, such as the bathroom. The sun heats the collector, which in turn heats the water. Once the water heats a sensor device activates the circulation pump which forces the hot water into the storage tank on the ground. The pump also moves the cold water from the bottom of the tank into the collector(s).

Also a supplier of our active systems, Conergy split hot water systems deliver superior results with high efficiency solar water heating. A 315L ground based tank is commonly grouped with 2 roof mounted collectors to comprise the split system. Ideal for situations when roof space is very limited or visual impact is to be reduced. 

Evacuated Tube Technology

Evacuated tube technology is a highly efficient, reliable solution for diverse weather conditions. The systems comprises of roof mounted evacuated heating tubes and a separate tank on the ground. The evacuated tubes have a round absorber surface allowing it to track sunlight throughout the day. The suns energy is absorbed by the tubes and the heat is then transferred to your water, located in the manifold, via copper heat pipes located inside each tube. Water is then pumped through this manifold moving the hot water to the storage tank where it can then be used, to be replaced by cold water.
