Advantages of a SolarEdge Optimiser

Typically, a solar panel consists of 60 or 72 cells which are connected into a junction box mounted at the back of the solar panel. The junction box contains a number of bypass diodes which can shut down a segment of the panel if shading becomes a factor. When this occurs, the output power of the panel is reduced which in turn reduces the overall performance of the entire solar array.

SolarEdge have managed to find a way around the impact of part shading by utilizing a compact box known as an Optimiser. An Optimiser is about the size of a mobile phone and is mounted at the rear of each Solar Panel. This means every Solar panel can effectively be individually isolated and work independently. In short it means a Solar panel that is in shade, is the only panel in the array that is affected which means more energy for you.

Smart Panels

Premium SolarEdge solar panels, each pre-assembled with a power optimiser, for greater energy production. Elegant black frame design and excellent reliability.

Smart Inverters

Single and three phase inverters supporting every type of residential roof, from small rooftops to large, high power installations. Inverters compatible with battery storage and smart energy solutions are also available.

Power Optimisers

Assembled on each SolarEdge smart panel on your roof, for increased panel output, or installed on third-party panels, converting them into smart panels.

Monitoring Platform

Provides free, real-time, panel-level performance monitoring and remote maintenance, for higher system uptime. Easy access from any computer or mobile device.

StorEdge™ Solution

Stores unused PV power on a battery to be used later when PV production is insufficient, for maximised self-consumption and increased energy independence. A backup option is also available, to power the home during a grid outage.

Smart Energy

Utilise excess PV production with SolarEdge’s smart energy products to power home appliances, increasing household solar usage and reducing electricity bills. Easily controlled on-the-go via SolarEdge’s mobile monitoring app.
